Our
craving for seafood brought us to Fish and Fries. There is nothing
fancy about the ambiance. The staff were courteous and ready to take
orders the moment we sat down. Though my better half suggested choosing a
chicken dish would give us an eclectic mix I was bent on trying as many
varieties of fish as possible. After all the place is named "Fish and
Fries".
So here goes our order
1) Fish and Fries Garlic - The fish was well crusted and had the taste of garlic coming through and did melt in my mouth. The tartar sauce was good and so was the garlic bread. However all of us felt that the portion was a little less for the price. Definitely not enough fries for sure
2) Roasted fish in Pesto Sauce - I was looking forward to this one because I like the taste of pesto and it felt like eons had gone by since I last tasted it. Unfortunately I was not too impressed. The fish did not absorb enough of the sauce and I felt it could do with a little bit of citrus to carry all the flavors along.
3) Spaghetti Arrabiata - This was the hero of the day. Well seasoned tomato sauce and perfectly cooked pasta. You could clearly taste the Italian herbs. My better half one the battle in terms of choice of food.
Verdict : Nice place to go once but it would take a long time before I miss the place.
